Very pleased to be able to say I have recently won a national drone photography competition – ‘400ft Britain‘ – run by the Civil Aviation Authority in conjunction with Visit England & PhantomFlightSchool. The competition aimed to promote safe use of drones and to showcase the beauty of our country and received over 1,200 entries during the months it was open for submissions.

One of my entries that took first place was of a local landmark on the North Wales coast, Point of Ayr lighthouse in Talacre and another shot taken in the Lake District was shortlisted, both of which will feature in a forthcoming charity calendar.

Surprised and pleased to have been recognised in this way for something that I just do as an occasional hobby, now making efforts to become professionally licenced to fly drones commercially – watch this space!

Here are the winning & shortlisted entries and some of the press coverage they received as a result.
