I’d been wanting to shoot a wedding in the brilliant but bonkers Oddfellows in Chester for some time, luckily the call arrived and it was for an old friend, Jennie, and her soon to be husband Chris.

Naturally jumped at the opportunity, not only is it just 5 minutes from home, but a truly stunning venue for a wedding (or any event for that matter), the decor is like nowhere else (film psychopaths on the massive lampshade anyone?!) and makes a fantastic backdrop for photographs.

This was a bit different to normal weddings, because it was for a friend and also local, I went down the evening before the wedding to Piccolino’s restaurant nearby to get some shots of the guests meeting for an evening meal and drinks before the real work started the next day.

The wedding day itself was equally brilliant, starting off with the Groom and his Best Man in ‘Suave‘ barbers just down road for a proper cut-throat shave before making my way back to Oddfellows to meet Jennie getting ready and then on to the wedding itself.

Brilliant weather, great bunch of people, fantastic venue, beautiful city, couldn’t really ask for much more!
