This was to be my last wedding of 2016 and what a way to end the year. A fabulous winters day starting off at the Oddfellows apartments to meet Sophie and her Bridal party getting ready, a very relaxed setting with plenty of room for everyone and very nicely furnished, highly recommended if looking for somewhere to stay within Chester.

The wedding ceremony then took place at the original Cathedral in Chester, St John the Baptist Church which is often overlooked for its grander twin on the other side of town, beautiful building both inside and out and was fascinating to spend a bit of time with the Rector listening as he told me about the building’s history. Plenty of room for me to freely move around inside without disturbing the wedding party and some lovely light coming in through the stained glass windows, bit too much light at times!

We then got on to the vintage routemaster bus waiting for us outside for the 10 mile journey to Cherry Orchard Lake run by Ryan and his team at Delamere Events, was touch and go for a little while if the old bus was going to make it up the steep incline of the A51 but thankfully it chugged along just enough to make it.

Cherry Orchard Lake is an amazing setting for a tipi wedding such as this and I’ve worked with Ryan in the past so knew it would be superb from beginning to end and didn’t disappoint. The tipi’s by All About Me were once again enormous and fitted out brilliantly as you can see below. The attention to detail is what makes them stand out and if you get chance to visit one of their open days then definitely go along to see for yourself.

A fantastic day from beginning to the end, finished off with a sparkler guard of honour and fireworks across the illuminated lake. Couldn’t think of a better way to bring in the new year, congratulations Sophie & Chris!

Finally, worth mentioning that I offer discounts for weddings at Cherry Orchard Lake, so if you are considering it or have already booked there then do get in touch.
