I suppose it is inevitable once it’s known you’ve reached a certain aptitude with a camera that at some point you will be asked to photograph a friend or relatives wedding, some might baulk at the idea and never want to venture down that road, I’m always up for a challenge however which is how it came to be sometime back in 2012 when I was asked to do that very thing for a family member.
As I started to hear some details about how the day was planned and the locations, knew straight away I had made the right choice and was only too pleased to be involved.
The wedding ceremony itself was to be held at the Old Marylebone Town Hall in Central London, which was soon to be closed for a substantial period to undergo refurbishment and as I later found out, was also the venue of choice for a certain Sir Paul McCartney & Liam Gallagher (not to each other I should point out). Then afterwards we were jumping on an old Routemaster red double-decker and heading back to a very nice pub & hotel in St. Albans for the reception.
Save for some freakish hailstones midway through the speeches, couldn’t have asked for better weather which along with the locations and it being a family wedding, made for an absolutely fantastic couple of days down south.
It’s been several weeks now, but congratulations again to Rebecca & Sam!
