I was put in touch with Angela & Gavin by a friend who’s wedding I had photographed the previous year (always nice to get a personal referral) and upon meeting the couple instantly knew this was going to be not your ordinary wedding and a whole load of fun, and so it proved!
This was my first time at Statham Lodge in Lymm and being on the outskirts of my usual patch wasn’t an area I was familiar with, but after meeting there a few weeks before the wedding I knew it was going to be a lovely venue for a wedding party, particularly amongst the extensive grounds around the main building.
Angela filled me in on some of the plans they had for the day, and the decor definitely piqued my interest – handmade skull candle holders and skeleton cake toppers were the order of the day and set the theme for everything else.
Sure enough it didn’t disappoint, from the moment I arrived with the bridal party in morning right the way through to the last few dances in the evening I was made to feel welcome and had a right good laugh the whole time, a really friendly jovial bunch of family and friends made for a perfect day, topped off with an unlikely Macarena on the dance floor!
The staff at Statham Lodge deserve a mention also, went out of their way to make sure everyone had a good time – more than usual, nothing was too much trouble even down to bringing me a roast dinner during the wedding breakfast, much appreciated!
