Wedding Information

Modern and contemporary Wedding photography across Chester, the North West & North Wales areas of the United Kingdom

Whether you are getting married in my beautiful hometown of Chester, any of the surrounding areas such as Cheshire, The Wirral, Flintshire, Shropshire, Merseyside, or even further afield, say the word and I’m there! The furthest I’ve gone so far is the tiny Greek island of Kefalonia, special rates available if you can beat that for distance!

Primarily I will cover your day in a documentary type style, less emphasis on the sometimes clichéd posed shots that have been done a thousand times (but if that’s what you want then not a problem!), focussing more on the little details of your day, interactions between your guests, laughs, smiles, tears, Dad dancing, the lot!

With the huge number of things that you are no doubt organising to make your special day perfect, I aim to make booking your photography as simple as possible.

Although as mentioned I am based in Chester, I love travelling and happy to go wherever you have decided your special day should take place, in the last year alone as well as photographing local weddings, I have travelled to MiamiKefalonia, London, Abersoch and Northern Ireland to photograph some beautiful weddings.

Each wedding I cover will be personalised to match your requirements, with prices starting at £995. Everything from Bridal preparations in the morning, right the way through to the first dance and beyond will be captured.

Take a look at the wedding section to see my most recent work, and if you’d like to discuss your wedding plans or have some questions, feel free to get in touch using the form below.

One simple digital package, with optional extras to suit all budgets.

Full day coverage for weddings is £995, or a half day (up to 5 hours) is £650 and includes all the following:
Initial consultation, in person or online meeting
I can then answer any questions you may have, check your requirements, give you an idea of what you can expect from me. We can meet in person to do this, or if place or time doesn’t allow this then an online meeting using Skype or similar
Visit to venue to look around, plan favourite locations, run through order of day
If you are having a rehearsal this is usually a good time to combine this
Up to 11 hours coverage on the wedding day (full day package), everything from bridal prep through to throwing shapes on the dancefloor
Usually more than enough time to cover entire day, but I’m by no means a clock watcher and have been known to stay longer!
Between 350-500 professionally edited photographs telling the story of your day from beginning to end
Every wedding is different so the number of photographs will vary, 350 is generally always the least, often many more
Online gallery of all photographs to view and share with family & friends
A private password protected space so you can control who gets to see your photographs, including easy way to order prints
Full printing rights to all photographs
I am always happy to order your prints for you as I have access to professional labs not normally accessible to the public, but should you wish to arrange your own then this document will show the retailer you are allowed to print
High resolution digital files on USB Memory
Because of the professional grade equipment that I use, these will allow you to produce massive prints & canvases
Web resolution versions of all photographs for sharing online (Facebook, Flickr, Google+ etc)
Because lets face it, these will be all over Facebook before I’ve even started my car after delivering them to you!
Cloud backup of all your photographs for a minimum of 24 months
Should the worst happen and your dog eats (both) of your USB memory sticks then no sweat, I’ve got you covered
Travel expenses included within a 30 mile radius of Chester
I love travelling, but anything further may need reasonable travel expenses (including accommodation if a considerable distance, contact me to enquire

Frequently Asked Questions

There are always a lot of questions and unknowns when first approaching any Wedding photographer, so below you’ll find below a list of the questions I get most often asked, and some that I may only have been asked once but thought worth including as relevant/funny/both.

If you do have something you would like to ask that isn’t listed below, please do get in touch and fire as many questions my way as you wish!

I’m afraid not, my costs and the time spent editing afterwards remains the same regardless of the day or date, which has to be reflected in the fee.

I never either shoot to or edit to a specific number of photographs, it’s simply not possible to do this, and what if I nail my quota within the first 2 hours, I could kick back and do nothing then! You’ll receive as many high quality edited photographs as I can get from your full days coverage, typically this would be somewhere in region of 350-450.

For almost all the images provided they should print without any problems at all up to 30″ x 20″, anything bigger than this may need some more production work so get in touch.

Afraid not, that’s a whole different set of skills best handled by a videographer. I stick to what I do best, photography. However, having said that, should you have people who are unable to attend for and you would really like them to see the ceremony, I can set a discreet and small video camera up somewhere to record this part of the day. Please note that this is entirely a free service, however I cannot guarantee the quality of the video from it’s fixed place, and it will be supplied in an unedited format.

Too right I do! Absolutely essential for any wedding photographer, I have both Public Liability and Professional Indemnity. Now I hope after you have read this far that you do go ahead and book me for your day, but if you do not, I won’t hold a grudge but please do ask and insist that your wedding photographer also holds these insurance covers.

Do I travel?! In short, yes! I love travelling! Anywhere further than a reasonable distance from my base does incur added cost for travel and accommodation where needed, this is kept to a minimum however and never used to bump up my price unnecessarily.

The deposit is non-refundable and used to reserve your date, thus we would then turn away any other requests for that date. If wedding is postponed however, this deposit amount will count towards the rescheduled date (providing that I am not already booked)

Your date is confirmed and reserved once I have received the signed contract and deposit payment.

During the day itself, all photographs are simultaneously saved to 2 memory cards for when one of them might fail (they never have yet, but if). These memory cards then do not leave my sight until they have been saved to my editing computer, with a backup copy made to a server with multiple hard drives, and then a further copy is created and kept off-site. There are always at least 2 full copies in separate locations of your pictures at any given time.

Generally I would say no more than 5 weeks after the event, but in practice it is usually sooner than this. And you will always receive a small selection of photographs a day or two after your wedding for you to share with friends & family before the full set arrives.

Things get thrown about, voices raised, blood pressure raised etc. I’m joking of course, as with all electronic equipment, things do occasionally malfunction or break. Rest assured though I always carry backup equipment with me so should the worst happen, I simply swap over to the backup and carry on as before with almost no interruption to my work.

Of course, just ask! I don’t publish an entire set on my website, mainly because there can be upwards of 500 photographs which would be overwhelming for people wanting a taster, but happy to show you if required.

If it’s not immediately obvious from my recent galleries, then get in touch and I will let you know, and if I have, then can show photographs of earlier weddings there. If I haven’t, I always make a point of trying to visit the venue beforehand to have a good walk round and familiarise myself with the layout, look for good spots to use for photographs, work out ‘plan B’ for bad weather etc.

In short, no. Trust me when I say you wouldn’t want every photograph. I will often take several of the same scene to make sure there is one where people aren’t blinking, looking away, squinting etc. And then there will be other shots that perhaps aren’t very flattering or very similar to others.
Editing your photographs begins with removing all the images that don’t make the grade, then the remaining ‘keepers’ are edited and are the final set that you will receive.

Not at all, your wedding breakfast should be for your guests. I’m more than happy to have a quick snack in a separate room which also gives me chance to back up the photographs from the day so far. Also then takes away the anxiety of people thinking they may be photographed with a mouth full of food, no one looks good then! Plus I always feel sleepy after having a big meal and it’s tricky finding a good spot at a wedding for a snooze!

Possibly, it depends on the date, get in touch and we can discuss it some more.
